This image is from the 'way back time machine', circa 1968, back when cameras used black and white and color film. For those who do not remember this phrase it comes from the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show...They used the time machine to go back and alter historic moments....check out their Wikipedia page....

This photograph was made on Prince Street between Mercer and Greene Street. What we need is a new word for 'capture'...sorry so old school around here...

This image will be part of my gallery show opening on September 10th at the Renaissance Fine Art and Design Gallery in Carmel, Indiana. The show title is 'Music, iPhone and other Neighborhoods' and will have images from my 45 year addiction to the camera...From Indiana the show will move to the 20 North Gallery in Toledo, Ohio. This will be the first time many of these images will be printed and displayed...

OK, so I go from the Mermaid Parade to India....what?...like this is not a perfect segue...

I made two trips to India back a few years working on a project in Nathdwara, a city in Rajasthan, western India. Nathdwara means 'pathway to the Lord Shri Krishna'. On each trip we stayed in Udaipur and each day made the 45 mile drive to Nathdwara. ...This was a treacherous drive - not so much the condition of the  road but mostly because the locals thought this was a 4 lane highway. It was not uncommon for them to pass on blind turns..I think you get the picture....

Most days we took a boat across Udaipur Lake to The Lake Palace Hotel for dinner...This hotel was the former summer residence of the royal family before being converted to a fabulous hotel. The hotel is pictured below - an image I borrowed from the WWW....

Cruisng the archive this morning and came across this image from Mumbai, India a few years back. At the time I was simply not able to correctly process the image mostly because I simply had not mastered the tools. Finally today I arrived at something I liked.....

AR Rahman

Quick post today - off to Coney Island for the day...And next week is the Mermaid Parade -

Last night I went to Nassau Coliseum to see the AR Rahman (Slum Dog Millionaire score) touring show. Had a few friends who were working on the show so thought it a good idea to check it out.

I was not dis-appointed - fabulous show - great visuals, dancing and production. Amy Tinkham directed, Butch Allen designed the set and Peter Morse did the lighting design.
